Nearly seven tons of C9 aromatic hydrocarbon were leaked into the ocean at a port in Quangang District, Quanzhou, China when the petrochemical cargo was being loaded into a chemical tanker and the transfer pipe broke. Nearby aquaculture farms were contaminated, fishermen and residents got sick from the leaked chemical.
